P52 Week 11 – Negative Space

This week’s prompt was about negative space.  When I first started photography I was all about filling the frame with my subject and while that has its place, I needed to find some variety so I started reading up on negative space.  Negative space is the area which surrounds the main subject in your photo.  It helps to isolate your subject and draw your eye to them.  With little K here I left the left half of the image with nothing in it.  While you can see the background, the focus of the image is to the right on her sweet face.

And while not submitted for the actual P52 project, here’s another example from my archives of Negative Space.
