Lindsay So I just have to follow up that last maternity post with the product of said baby bump – Baby Maris James – my beautiful niece! She’s my first niece (and only girl cousin my Lia has at this point) and we’re so in love with her.
I lovingly schlepped all my newborn gear back up to Pittsburgh and took over her grandma’s living room for our shoot. By the time we got to meet she was already almost a month old which is a little bit on the older side for newborn photos. Maris however was impatient and arrived a few weeks early so if we base it on her adjusted age we were in the sweet spot. She slept pretty much the entire shoot. If she woke, she was easy to get back down and was a dream to work with.
As I was packing up things to take with me I was texting with her momma about a color scheme. Her nursery is amazing and so colorful so we settled on a primary colors type of scheme (with some arrows and rainbows for fun.
Maris is actually a rainbow baby so we had to make sure we got one special shot to recognize the rainbow after a storm:) She even decided to open those beautiful eyes and look straight at me as we were doing those particular photos.
I’d schlep my gear a hundred times over for her mommy and daddy (and hope they let me do it at least a few more time…hehe).
