Red, White, and Blue Family Session | Aldie Mill Family Photographer

If you’ve been following this blog for any period of time you’ve seen these faces many times:) These guys have been a 2x baby plan subscriber and end up in front of my lens at least 2x a year now! I love love love every time we meet up. The only challenge is finding new places to shoot at but that’s a good problem. Northern Virginia has many beautiful places to have your family photos done.

This time we headed out for an early morning family photo session at Aldie Mill. It’s such a fun place with many different options for backdrops. The last few times we’ve met I didn’t manage to get momma and daddy together just them so we made sure to get a few. When you’re so focused on the kids it’s often times hard to remember about you as a couple.

This shot is their momma’s favorite (and often requested). Both kiddos have the most amazing blue eyes that you can’t help but zoom in close and they’re both naturals in front of my camera (probably because they’ve never know of anything else – I’ve photographed both of them since their births!)

When we go about planning your sessions we start by talking about the fam. If I’ve never met the crew before then we’ll discuss the kids and what they like and dislike. We talk about their personalities and what makes them smile. Hearing you tell stories about your little ones makes my heart happy. I aim to capture those adorable personalities in my photos.

For example – Kate above here is a ham but only if you yell “selfie” at her. Haha. She was shy and stone faced until we pulled out the selfie. After which he immediately warmed up and started posing and cheesing.
I can’t wait to meet up with these guys again this month for their Fall family portraits! This time we’re going to try out my new go to – Morven park!!
