Lindsay Hard to believe that this was almost 9 months ago at this point. I’m so far behind in blogging sessions! This beautiful family joined me again almost 1 year to the day that I saw them last for the little princess E’s newborn sessions. Now little brother was on the way so we met up at Morven Park for a combo maternity and first birthday session!
There are a number of beautiful venues in northern Virginia for photo shoots but time and time again I choose Morven Park. The place is so huge that you have a nearly unlimited number of options when it comes to beautiful backdrops for photos.
Set on the ground of the historic Westmorland Davis estate, Morven park offers a great variety of gardens and walking paths. This path is one of my favorite places for a beautiful strolling picture of a momma and her beau (or a family!) On this day the sun streamed in just right to catch and illuminate them perfectly. Who needs off camera flash when mother nature is at work!
And for this series, we found a secret little spot inside the huge grove of magnolia trees. Right next to the parking lot but tucked away enough to be our own little secret alcove for some momma and daddy snuggles.
I took mom over to the English garden surrounded on all sides by large boxwood hedges and filled in the center with a great variety of flowers and greenery. This momma love purple and I tried like heck to find her some purple for in her images.
And last but certainly not least, the little princess. We found this little spot just off the side of the path. The sun was coming in just right and though she wasn’t entirely a fan of the grass, she smiled and looked beautiful!
