I’ve had a few questions on some of the images I’ve posted recently (like – how’d you do that?!) and thought it a good time to speak a few on newborn safety. You’ve seen me post a few times […]
I had the pleasure of photographing little Ella’s parents’ maternity session just a month before she arrived. When I met her momma during their pre-session consultation she showed me the adorable nursery they were assembling for her. I knew that […]
I’ve had a slew of boy newborns lately and I’m loving it! I had a long run of girls there but between little H here and Mav previously I’d have the opportunity to change it up and try out some […]
This little man is living up to his name and doing things on his own schedule. He was scheduled to be delivered April 15 but decided he’d arrive 2 weeks early!!! Thankfully he and his momma did great and he […]
Given that I only take a limited amount of newborns a month (2 maybe 3 depending on the due dates), I end up having some gaps between them (when I’m editing mostly) but it also means that in order to keep my skills sharp and help our sessions move as efficiently as possible I need to “practice” in between shoots. Being a photographer that works primarily in natural light doing maternity, newborn, and family portraits I don’t actually have a formal studio. For my maternity and family portraits we’re often outside at a park or urban area and making the best out of what nature can supply lighting wise. For my newborn clients I come to you so that you can relax in the comfort of your own home while your baby has their first photoshoot!
When we moved to Herndon, Nate and Michele were the first couple we really got to know. Nate and my husband went to high school together and shared mutual friends. They’d been in the area for awhile and showed us […]
I first met this little handsome man’s mom at a book club meeting and really enjoyed getting to know her. I was very excited when she asked me to take their family photos last year where I had the pleasure of meeting […]
Sweet little E's daddy is a bit of a Star Wars nut. I asked her mommy if they had any plush Star Wars characters and she confessed she only had a few. Well, daddy fixed that right away and came home with the entire collection for our session:)
He was sweet and sleepy and so adorable. When I arrived I was greeted by his very enthusiastic sister and their pup. I stopped to talk with her for a bit and before long we were best friends. She was a very helpful big sister while I was working with her little brother.
