Periodically there are questions that come from my customers about what to expect and what to wear etc. Here’s the place where you can find those answers!
How long will our session last?
Children and family full sessions are about an hour (mini’s are 20-30 min). Newborn sessions can take 3-4 hours (babies need a lot of shushing, rocking and feeding to get those sleepy poses).
How far will you travel?
I love to travel and will make the trek as my schedule allows. However, any session over 25 miles from the 20148 zip will incur a $100 travel fee.

What should we wear for our photo shoot?
Above all else, be yourself! Find clothes that are comfortable and that scream “you”. You don’t want to be pinching and pushing or sucking things in during your shoot – it will show in your face! Pick colors that coordinate but not necessarily match. Stick with two or three pops of color combined with a neutral to keep it simple but interesting. Steer clear of busy patterns and stripes.
Accessories are always fun but keep them simple, a hat or scarf and some simple jewelry.
What if my child won’t cooperate?
Some days kids just don’t want to cooperate. It happens to all of us. We’ll charge on thru for the first 30 min or so but if we can’t get any shots then I offer one reschedule for free.
What do I need to do to get ready for my newborn shoot?
There are just a few things you need to do to help the session go more smoothly. First of all, turn up the heat in the house. I have a space heater but it helps when the room we’re in is also warm. A warm baby is a happy baby! Next, as I’m setting up go ahead and feed your little one. A full belly makes for a sleepy baby (usually). We can take as many breaks as we need to for top offs and what not. Lastly, if there are any props that you want included in the shots, have those out. I come armed with a suitcase full of fun things but I love incorporating personal items into the images (I even incorporated a kayak once!) Outside of that, just sit back and relax and enjoy some time to yourself as I work to capture images of your little one.
What should I bring for our family shoot?
For family shoots, you really just need to bring yourself and your adventurous spirit. I love to laugh and joke during the shoot so we can capture natural smiles. I may ask you to sit on the ground , jump up and down or be goofy with me .
I will bring blankets and baskets as necessary otherwise I prefer to keep things minimal and focus on you! If there are any special items you want included then bring them. We can work them into the shots.
