Fathers day is right around the corner and I know that I, for one, struggle with what give to give to both my dad and my husband (from our kids). I thought I’d put together a quick list of some neat photo ideas that you can do for your dads! Some you can even DIY at home!
Mixtiles are a great quick way to print out those photos of the kids for dad. They’re easy to hang and even easier to upload and create.
DIY Wood Print is a quick DIY way of making a spectacular gift! I’ve done two for my husband over the years. First step is to find that photo that you love of him and the kids (or just the kids) and get it printed on a black laser printer (laser is important, not ink jet). Kinkos can do it if you don’t have a printer at home. Then grab a wood plaque and some modge podge and go to town! Check out the tutorial for complete instructions.
Mini Albums are one of my favorite products that I offer. A sweet little trio of magnetic 3×3 mini albums with a selection of your images in them from one of our sessions! I can turn these around in about 2 weeks (often less), just in time for Fathers day. Reach out if you’d like a set made or would like more information!
Dad Wall Art is a broad category of gifts that I’ve done over the years. From the I Love Daddy feet you see above to the art you see below and a few in between. You can go so many ways here. Grab your camera, have your kids write down (or you write down) what they love about dad on a poster and then snap them holding it. Arrange them into a collage and frame it.
Another option is to let me help you!! The image below is an offering I have for my clients with their sessions. The art can be customized images from your sessions and whatever word you use for dad. This lovely printed and framed (which I can do as well!). Reach out today to give us enough time to turn it around before the holiday!
- Photo Mugs are always a hit too! There are a plethora of places that will print mugs for you and you don’t have to be limited to just coffee mugs! They offer tumblers and other drinking vessels that may better suit the dad in your life!
And I could go on! Photo blocks, blankets, BBQ aprons customized with your kids faces, key chains
So, if your dad is a hard one to shop for and has all the BBQ and home improvement stuff he could ever need, consider a photo gift to capture how small they are and create a lasting artifact of their love.
