Flash back to the end of last year when I met Emily and Louis at Morven park for their maternity session. Emily agreed to be a model for me and try out one of my new gowns. This color is stunning on her (and I knew it would be with her red hair).
We ended up with a gorgeous evening to walk around the park and take photographs. She and Louis were so natural in front of the camera (and obviously so in love with their soon-to-be newest addition).
I know a lot of people can be shy in front of the camera. Trust me, I’m far more comfortable behind the lens vs. in front of it. But, during our consult I try to dig into that and then reassure my clients that there’s nothing to be nervous about. Our sessions are relaxed and fun. We probably spend more time talking and joking than we do picture taking:) I’ll guide you into loose poses and then we’ll just interact. I will ask you to interact with your partner and have been known to give silly prompts in order to relax things.
From start to finish we spend around 60 min getting the shots that we need for your gallery. Sometimes we’re faster and sometimes we’re just having such a great time that we run over. The beauty of how I schedule my photography sessions is that there’s really no time constraint (outside of sunset obviously). We can take our time getting what we need (and warming up the camera if need be – in the case of children for example).
I’ve said it before and I’ll continue to say it – I want to photograph all your family’s moment so I work hard before, during, and after your sessions to ensure you’re comfortable and happy with the outcomes. I do this in the hope that you’ll make me your family photographer:) That’s not asking for much is it??:)
